FRIZZLES

*SCREAM*

Aren't these the cutest chooks you ever saw?

These are the proud parents to our 10 frizzle chicks that Jack will soon be adopting. The babies are due on the 15th October so we are looking forward meeting them.

African Babies

Here are our new little African Cichlids. They are only small but after only 6 months will grow to about 6x the size they are now. They will also have some friends added but for now they are becoming accustomed to their new home.

This kid is driving us nuts!

According to William the best way to enjoy noodles is to use two hands to shove it into your face.

That is, after you have tipped the bowl onto your face. I will note here that I did try to help him with a fork to which he shook his head with pursed lips.

And here is William with his 'lovey.' Just like the bath toy he is attached to this green bottle. When we had Maryanne & Gye over for dinner someone put the green bottle on the table and William started scrunching his fists and screaming until Stu remembered his attachment to the green Sprite bottles. Apparently this first happened at Woolworths and Daddy let him carry the bottle all the way home in his car seat. As you can see by the way he is holding it he loves it. After we gave it to him the crying instantly stopped, he resumed eating his dinner and he was talking to the bottle and kissing it. Most children become attached to an adorable stuffed toy which is so cute but Jack carries around his dinosaurs and William..... a Sprite bottle. At least he fits in down at Kippax.

Mini Mister Maker

Lemon Merange Cupcakes are our new specialty and Jack has started to watch a new show on ABC kids called 'Mister Maker' so we are doing Mister Maker craft projects at home while William takes his morning nap.

Jack LOVES craft.

So does Mister Maker.

Feed The birds

Jack was super excited about feeding worms to the birds this morning. He asked the lady for six worms please and he was impressed when she said he could probably have many more than just six.

He gave out each worm selectively and made sure that each bird was happy and sharing nicely. When a worm was rejected he went and fetched it and put it back in his bowl.

William was curious about the birds and wanted to pet them. Needless to say we didn't let him anywhere near the WORMS!

MINE!

Just this week William has become aware of what's mine and yours. He is asserting his rights as a baby to break out with screaming if Jack comes anywhere near his Fisher Price Piano or if Mum takes away his favourite bath toy. When Stu told me about the favourite bath toy I had to test it out and I could not BELIEVE the show. Even after I tried to give it back he was still sulking.

William also decides he will not eat unless he can feed himself. This makes things like custard, yoghurt and weetbix and absolute disaster but here he is enjoying his macaroni. It's ok when we take his shirt off and put an extra large plastic bib on with newspaper underneath his chair. I think cave men would make less mess!

He still loves Jack as long as he doesn't touch his piano!

First Silde

Bringing in the washing is so much more fun when it's warm and the sun is still out. Now that William can crawl he is exploring the world more and more.

Jack took him for his first proper slide.

This is what he thought...

And then he wanted to go back up again and again.

Tired Boy

This crawling has worn William out. His 4th tooth also came through today.

Even Jack can't resist kissing a sleepy William.

Adore Thursday

William and I met up with his friends at Adore Tea in Gold Creek. The tea was superb and there was a whole book to choose from. I enjoyed the mini pancakes while William preferred the vegemite sandwich.

He chatted with his friend Kieren while they ate lunch.

Elizabeth thought the boys were funny to watch.

Sam ran between the table and the play area.

If you are wondering what to buy a yummy mummy like myself for Christmas then go to Adore Tea. Just go there!

Then we went to pick up Jack from daycare and do the library/park trip.

GET DOWN FROM THERE!

Rose

Jack's day career is Rose and she is just so relaxed and organised! I was instantly sold on her the moment I saw her huge backyard with over half a dozen bikes and all of the toys under the sun. The kids were all so happy and Rose has a calm and caring nature. With all of the children in her home I could not believe how clean and tidy everything was. Jack took no time to settle into care and he still asks if he can go to Rose's house on the weekends.

Today when I was chatting to Rose she was so excited to see William crawling on the floor. It made her sad to see he is growing up so quickly. "Just look at Jack," she said. "He is going to preschool next year and I have cared for him since he was sleeping in a cot." She got the photos out and her day book from 2 years ago and it was beautiful to see Jack with his best friends, Madeline and Summer and how much they have grown. Summer is starting preschool next year too but luckily Madeline will still be there to play with William.

"They grow up so quickly." She said.

Dad at Flori-garden

Jack dubbed Floriade Flori-Garden and we made an extra trip to show Dad the baby am-e-nals and the Ferris Wheel of course. Dad's favourite part was the vege garden and the chilli man. It was 19 degrees and such a beautiful day.

Crawling

William started commando crawling a couple of weeks ago but for over a week now he has been taking a couple 'proper' crawls and then going back to the tummy or sitting himself up until yesterday when Stu put his toy piano across the other side of the lounge room and then he was off like a rocket. When he got there he realised how far he had come and then he started crawling around the house! The wooden floors were a bit slippery but today he has the hang of that too. This video was taken today. One day after he figured it out and he is FAST!

Back from Burra

Pop is showing off his new Canon and it's pretty impressive. William and Jack rode in Pop's truck to Burra for the annual boot sale. It was very exciting, the whole town was at the sale! We sat in the sun and ate sausage sandwiches after grabbing some bargains. Beautiful.

Yoga

I think William was a bit bored without Jack today. He started doing Yoga.

He was weighed and measured today and he is 9kgs which is right on the 50th percentile. He is 70cm in length which is also on the 50th percentile. The nurse commented he is the perfect baby. Huh, if only she spent a day with him teething!

Not quite what I had in mind....

So this is what I found after I got dressed this morning. It seems the dinosaurs have invaded the cute dog house. Jack explained the mother Stegosaurus is putting her baby to bed and Diego is taking a drink from the bath and then the other dinosaurs are coming over to watch tv. Righto then. And the Terra dactyl on the roof? Well, he is making too much noise.

More from Floriade

I love to take photos at Floriade. In 2 days time I will officially be on long service leave and I can hardly believe that it has been 7 years since I first started teaching. I am going to enjoy every minute of my well deserved break!

Floriade

This is the short story. Don't ask for the long one.

Starting to see the light.

Approaching 4 and Jack is finally beginning to see the light. He can now communicate all of his needs and he understands why he can't have everything NOW! He appreciates things and respects. Most days he is such a fantastic helper. He understands that when he is tired it's a good idea to take a nap and he loves William more than I could ever imagine. Last week Jack had just woken up from an afternoon nap as I was signing him out of day care and Rose was holding William. Jack started to get teary because he thought I might leave William behind. They both hate to be separated.

He still loves craft and is mad about dinosaurs.

He loves to help with changing and feeding William.

Jack says, 'He is my best friend.'

William

Aunty Ren picked up this QuickSmart stroller for when we go on holiday. It folds down into a backpack so you can take it on as overhead luggage when flying. Only catch is that it's bright pink! William doesn't seem to care.

Speaking of Aunty Ren, she came to babysit Jack AND William for the first time today. It was the first time they had ever been left together without Mum or Dad and we went and saw a movie together just like old times. Aunty Ren is so awesome that Jack and William both had a beautiful afternoon sleep.

The picture below was taken at playgroup for father's day and I know I am biased but he really is pretty cute so I am just throwing this one is for extra cute factor.

Dress Up

The Dress Up box was actually inspired by the labels but we already had heaps of bits and pieces to go into the box. Also it was a bonus that there were some outfits on special for $10 so we bought 2. I picked up a collection of hats and boots to add to the box from the Salvos for $2 each and it provided 2 hours of fun this afternoon.

Even William wanted to be a pirate.

They are the cutest pirates I ever saw.
