Drawing

Jack was inspired to start some drawing this afternoon and below is a picture of the four of us. I like the way he is flying and William is so small.

William really understood how he was marking the page with the colours as he was copying Jack. They were both so proud to get their picture taken next to their art.

Lemons and Limes

After spending a much needed 90 minutes cleaning out the pantry. We cleaned the garage, concreted the garden bed and dropped a load of junk off to the tip.

Then we loaded the trailer up with dirt FOUR TIMES to fill the new garden bed.

We planted lemons and limes and watered them in. Both boys were asleep by 8pm and we will all be sleeping well tonight. Exhausted!

Easter lunch

It was super exciting to see Molly and Oscar all weekend and the Sydney family too.

William knew exactly what to do with his first lolly pop and the kids had fun setting up the shade tent.

Easter lunch was early but so much fun with Easter bon bons and good company.

Nan S took photos of the grand kids and gave them a lollipop too.

And I had so much fun playing with Uncle Ben's new Canon SLR. Pics below.

PRESENTS!

It was very exciting to come home from work and see the new gate and the side of the deck complete.

There were also 8 beautiful chairs and table all in big boxes on the deck begging to be opened!

The new lights/ power and bug zapper go in on Monday and it will all be beautifully oiled (by us). Stu's going to concrete the garden bed on Monday and make 2 smaller beds for the front too. The heaters arrive in 2 weeks and the easter break will be when we make the path, level the step with gravel and fill the garden bed. 4 weeks from now I predict a deck warming PARTY!

Progress

There has been so much going on around here. It's busy 7 days a week!

Sky Fire on the Saturday was great fun. William was mesmerised by the light show and Jack loved it too. There was an annual KFC picnic with heaps of kids to play with. It really was a great night.

Uncle Jame's turned 25 and the boys had their first Indian dining experience. They loved Ruchi's in Belconnen. Great food!

Jack's still doing his Mister Maker projects and this one he painted on his own.

Stu converted the bbq to natural gas after Grandpa and Uncle Andrew put a gas connector on the new deck.

The timber screen went up today and it added to the ambiance, took the wind away and gave us privacy. Every meal has been outdoors since the deck was oiled last weekend and we love the serenity.

Listening to the birds and the rain on the tin roof is beautiful. The lights and heaters are going up this week and a new 8 seater table.

The gate, garden bed and path are still in progress.

So when are you coming for dinner?

William might even give you a kiss!

This little clip is Jack's favourite part of soccer. He really loves soccer and he is doing so well.

Garden Bed

Stu has spent the last two days in the full sun building this beautiful garden bed. Gye bought his chainsaw over and his special drill piece and they hammered and drilled away. The boys loved watching and 'helping' pass the tools and dig in the mud.
Stu spent until 9pm in his garden bed, up to his knees in dirt making sure it was all level and beautiful for the boys to see this morning and they were impressed!

The gate is also half done and the guttering is on the pergola. It's 3/4 complete and I can't wait until it all done!

Bemboka

Pop was pretty happy to receive Jack's chooks today. The chooks traveled in style in the BRAND NEW Jeep Cherokee!

Pop was pretty proud and so keen to drive the luxury car that they are all heading off to Victoria tomorrow to see Molly & Oscar too.

My personal favourite feature is the auto sun roof. Just so I can ride like this!

The Nanna's spolit the boys at a garage sale and of course we bought home a whole pram load of treasures. William was excited to find a replacement for his beloved dyson at home and Jack found a couple of Rhinos which he took to bed with him.

There was a shower in the afternoon to cool off the hot day and of course that meant there was plenty of mud on the late afternoon egg run.

The deck has a roof

The builders arrived early on Wednesday morning and weren't the slightest bit fazed by the constant drizzle of rain. The materials arrived for the roof so up they went and within a couple of hours the roof was solid.
The gate is still a work in progress as we need to move the garden bed before it can go up. The timber screen is also on the list but the boys were able to enjoy playing outside this afternoon even though it was still raining.

Tori is also a big fan of the deck and the cover although her paw prints are causing Stu some stress.

Walk on Photography

Krystal and her gorgeous kids met us at the park and in her own words she 'stalked them in their natural happy place.' The pictures have come out beautifully and what struck me was the intense emotion from the eyes in both these pictures.

It's a beautiful capture and something very different to the happy snaps I usually love. Incredible too, that she was able to get these pictures as they were both running at high speeds and having a great time at the park. They hardly even noticed their stalker with the giant camera.

These are my beautiful babies. They are complicated.

The Deck Story

It was a huge surprise to see the foundations had already been laid for the deck on Tuesday when I got home from work.

The boys were excited and watched the builders all day. Even Tori was excited to have company all week. Today when we came home for lunch the steps and floor were in!
On Wednesday next week there will be a roof and following that the green gate will be replaced with a 6 foot gate to match the deck. I can't wait for the timber screen to go up all along the North side of the deck there will be horizonatal slats because although we love our neighbors we also love our privacy.

Random fun. Jen, Justine and I went out last night and had a great time.
