Pre-Christmas Dinners

The Motbey Christmas is always loud, crowded, chaotic and heaps of fun. Nanna thoughtfully conducted a craft activity for the cousins while the roast ham was cooking which provided some element of calm.

The Duncan Christmas dinner, hosted by Grandpa was a feast of prawns, roast meat and vegetables. After three pre-Christmas dinners this week we feel really ready for the real thing!

Getting into the Christmas Spirit

There were some fantastic lights around Canberra and Queanbeyan this year and we managed to fit in a few tours before we left for the Gold Coast. Nanna's house (below) was by far the best in Queanbeyan.

The SIDS and Kids lights in the city were awesome and we followed up with a visit to the Pancake Palour.

This marionette display at Tipping Place in McKellar was something special but the best lights in McKellar were at Slessor Street.

The Real Tree

This year our real tree went to a disability ACT group house.

Carols by Candle Light and Farewell to Wiradjuri

Everyone was feeling festive and the weather was perfect for carols at stage 88. The only thing slowing me down was a terrible sinus infection but my Santa hat kept me warm.

William said farewell to Wiradjuri the next day and he was cheerful about moving onto "big school." I was rather sad to say goodbyes to all of the staff who have been so wonderful over the past few years. Every chance I get to rave about how wonderful their staff and programs are I do. I really will miss everything about Wiradjuri.

Arrabella's Birthday

Gingerbread Houses and Uncle Ice Cream

Meet Uncle Ice Cream. He/she is 2 weeks old and came home from Jack's school through a hatching chicks program.

She/he went on a visit to preschool and cheeps very loudly when left alone. It wasn't long before Uncle Ice cream outgrew this tiny cage.

So the boys got out the hammer and nails. Then they painted this playpen which is so much easier to keep clean and Uncle Ice cream is so much happier.

On Saturday it rained and it poured so we caught up on a few things inside. The boys made their ginger bread houses and Jack made his all by himself.

The big chickens enjoyed the worms coming up in the rain. They love to wander around the front yard and free range with the view of the golf course.

There were puzzles to be done and presents to wrap. It's such a busy time of year!
