Hanuma Bay under the water

Sea Life Park, Hanuma Bay and Tiki Restaurant

William was a little jet lagged and fell asleep on the way to Sea Life Park. We got a car park straight at the door and he bounced out full of energy once again.

Sea Life park was awesome. It had a relaxed atmosphere which is nothing like Sea World at home. There seemed to be less than a few hundred people in the park. The shows weren't crowded and there was plenty of shade.

Jack's been struggling with not too many GF options so he was very excited to have tortilla chips with guacamole and nacho cheese for lunch.

The aviary was full of love birds and cockatiels which were very friendly. The one below tried to help himself to Stu's back pack.

Below is the famous Wholphin which is a hybrid between false killer whale and atlantic bottle nose dolphin. The only one of her kind.

After Sea Life park we stopped by Hanuma Bay for some snorkelling then off to Tiki's Restaurant for dinner. We were evicted from the beach as it closes every afternoon at 5.30. Jack was somewhat concerned about the eels in the water but William swam right out into the ocean and found schools of fish. He was so excited he was trying to tell me through the snorkel "FISH!"

Tiki's Restaurant is one block away from our hotel. All of the places we've eaten at have excellent service. They put drinks out and colouring books with crayons before you've even had a chance to look at the menu.

Stu had seared Tuna and I had crab dip which was delicious.

North Shore

We drove to the North Shore and stopped for lunch at Ka'a'awa where we happened to find Uncle Bobo's BBQ hole in the wall style food.

We decided to see the Polynesian Cultural centre where we took a canoe ride and watched some dancing. The boys got beautiful fresh flower Leis and Stu learnt how to make coconut oil.

We got stuck in some major traffic so decided on Hawaiian Pizza for dinner after cooling off in the pool.

Aloha from Hawaii

The boys were up early and super excited to head off on the adventure of a lifetime. They were organised and packing the car while I was still brushing my teeth.

The airport went smoothly and the plane had loads of entertainment. Dinner was actually delicious and breakfast was pretty good too. William got plenty of sleep as he laid across 2 seats and the rest of us napped here and there.

John came and picked up our luggage as they arrived a day before. The suitcases would not squeeze into the Bumble Bee car as we went for style over practicality. Jack could not stop smiling when we drove to Safeway with the top down to get some groceries. We had Korean BBQ for dinner and it was delicious.

The room has the most spectacular 180 degree view of the ocean and it's perfect for families. There is a full kitchen and the laundry is only 2 doors down. The pool is perfect and there are bbqs.

The boys jumped straight into the pool on arrival then off to lunch and a very short walk to the beach. Jack had lots of energy for someone with less than a couple of hours sleep the night before. After lunch we all napped for a couple of hours and felt ready to take on Hawaii.
