Next Tuesday William will be 3 months. I believe in the theory that babies are born 3 months too soon as written about in 'The Happiest Baby'. William certainly now has a mind of his own and he is much more settled without needing his wrap and dummy for every sleep. He is very aware of where he is and always where Jack is. He doesn't 'talk' as much as Jack did at his age but he is starting to find his voice. He is such a happy boy and still so cuddly.

Bonding
This picture shows how they look at each other all the time. It's amazing how quickly the brotherly bonds have formed and it's just beautiful. It makes all the juggling and double the washing worth it. Jack is showing William his little Easter chicken and it's giving him a kiss.
Jack is always checking where William is and letting me know when he needs something, 'Mum, I sink he needs some milk.' or 'Mum, I sink he stinks. I get his nappy.' Anyone who knows Jack understands that he isn't the most quiet or gentle one but he has learnt quickly that William likes gentle touching and gentle 'inside' voices.
The other day I took Jack to the Doctor and when the Doctor asked how he was he started with, 'I'm good. I dot a brother! His name is William.'
One day I hope they will be each others Best Man and someone the other can call on to fix the other's deck. Jack has forgotten what life was like before William.

Sky Fire
The boys are exhausted from SkyFire last night. The fireworks were fantastic and we had a great time. We enjoyed our annual indulgence in KFC but next year there will be Coasties to match.
This picture pretty much sums it up. Stu has 'the easy one' and is disaproving of Jack's antics, concerned that he will fall in the lake. Jack is clearly up to mischief and William is wondering what we have gotten him into this time. Me, I'm just loving the fun!

Jack was probably the most fashionable child there in his pyjamas and sun faded crocs.
William had a little nap and woke up in time to enjoy the show. He was so exhausted that he only woke up to feed once last night and both boys slept until 7.30. These days that's what I call a "sleep in." HA!

Growing up too fast
Jen came to visit on Sunday. We spent the whole day maxing and relaxing at home.
William continues to grow and his head is nearly at the top of his bed so this weekend we moved the bassinet from beside mum's bed to his own room.
Jack's paintings are evolving. This face now has arms and legs and once he made one house he continued to make houses all weekend. There is also a rainbow and sun in his picture. I thought to myself that psychologists would say he is a happy child. And then this morning he painted a storm!
William learnt to hold his rattle and his dummy. He is already bringing anything that is in his hands to his mouth. He really is growing so fast. Jack has also grown 3cms since we measured him on his birthday.

2 Months
Will is 8 weeks old today and we are all getting much more sleep. Although Jack is still learning to cope without the one to one attention, he loves his little brother so much.
William has his own routine and he settles to sleep within minutes. He wakes twice a night to feed and has thrown in a few nights where he only woke once. He feeds every two hours during the day and when he's awake he smiles constantly and watches Jack play. His favourite spot is the bouncer chair where he can get the best view of Jack.
Will has officially outgrown his 0000 clothes and his newborn nappies and this time we aren't saving them but we are passing them onto baby Drainey who is due in 6 weeks. We are excited to see out little man out of the 'newborn' stage. Newborn babies are cute but they are hard work!

Busy Boys
It was great fun to meet Molly at the Hall Markets this morning. We had hot dogs for lunch and a lovely stroll around the market. William slept from the time we got to the market until we got home at lunch time. (He is in the stroller behind Jack and Molly.)
William accompanied us to the wedding while Jack went to the park with Aunty Ren. William slept through the ceremony and the reception. He flashed some killer smiles at the ladies in between.
Jack loved riding Josephine the Donkey.

While the cat's away the mice will sleep
Jack caught an Action Bus to the mall with Rose today and he was so excited as he has been asking to catch a bus for months. William sleeps for most of the day when Jack isn't at home and Mum and Dad indulged in a hot breakfast on the lake before work while Will slept. When we were packing up to go Stu spotted some ducks and commented on what a shame it was that he couldn't point them out to Jack. William cried in the car on the way home because Jack wasn't there to chat to him, he thought we had all abandoned him.
