So this is (almost) Christmas

It's been a busy week of Christmas fun. The Sydney family came for dinner and gift sharing. We drove around Canberra to see the best Christmas light displays and Uncle Mike joined us for Christmas in the city.

Bissenger Street, Kambah is always the favourite. Santa arrived right on 8pm.

Nanna's house is brighter than ever.

I came across a field of butterflies on my morning walk. It was quite spectacular but I only had my iPhone camera.

Jack and William made some sugar cookies which were delicious.

Uncle Mike and Jack rode on Cappuccino while William and I took a ride on Pretty boy.

An elf appeared in our house the day after the boys visited Santa. The elf has been very annoying to have around!

Jack enjoyed the Lego advent calendar while William had a Freddo Frog calendar.

The light tour took us to Springvale Drive Hawker, Tipping Street & Slessor Street McKellar, and Wollf Cres Latham.

We had decided the most tasteful display was at Tipping Street but we were completely amazed by the dancing lights at Wollf Cres.

Christmas Party Time!

We had great fun at the Urban family Christmas party on Saturday followed by Christmas dinner with Gye and Maryanne on Sunday. What a fabulous and exhausting time of year!

The Christmas Chicken

William is going to be a Christmas Chicken in the junior Christmas Concert next week.

A big thank you to Nan for making the costume!

Lake Tabourie

It was Gye's birthday weekend so we packed up the tent and went off on a camping adventure at Lake Tabourie.

It rained a bit on Saturday morning but cleared up after breakfast. It was looking a bit damp for a while.

We headed off to explore the beach which was a 5 minute walk away from the tent.

The real fishermen took off to the lake and had a couple of decent catches. Jack caught a whiting and an octopus. He was super excited to show off his catch. He was baiting his own hooks and casting on his own too.

The younger crew ran through the splash park.

The birthday boy got right into the splash-action.

Jack helped with cooking dinner and then the washing up while William rode his bike around the grounds.

It rained lightly on Sunday night and it turned out to be a perfect day. The boys dug holes and drove toy cars around while we packed up. Great memories were made!

It wouldn't have been possible without Juliette's KIA! Thanks Jules.
