Blue Mountains

After a short stop to drop all of our gear off we headed to Mt Tomah Gardens to meet up with the gang. Jack was sick in the car but perked up quickly after getting some fresh air with a short rainforest walk.

We ventured out early to Scenic World and the lines weren't too bad (15-20mins) for school holidays. The Skyway took us over to the 3 sisters look out and from there we walked down to the water fall for morning tea. The boys took their shoes off pretty quickly to jump from rock to rock.

The  Scenic Railway was the most exciting part. It took us straight down through a dark tunnel where we could do a short forest walk up to the Cableway.

The following day we woke up to fog and rain. The kids enjoyed staying inside and visiting each others cabin. They did painting, played board games and watched movies. After lunch we noticed the sun coming out so we jumped in the cars and went out to explore Leura. We stopped at Leura Cascades and then had afternoon tea at The Blue Mountains Chocolate Company in Katoomba. We bought some goodies to take home for Stu and I enjoyed a hot tea while the boys played on the playground.

A short walk from the cafe was Echo point where the kids decided to take a walk further down to explore. The views were awesome and it was great to finally see the clouds lifting and the sun coming out.

We had dinner at Alchemy Wood Fired Pizza & Cafe at Hartley which was the perfect restarant choice for a large group including 9 children. The pizza was delicious and the service was fast.

On our way home we stopped at Jenolan Caves and we were glad that we pre-booked tickets as many tours had sold-out. We did the 1 hour tour of the Chifley cave which everyone enjoyed. For afternoon tea we took a break at Goulburn and ate at the Paragon Cafe. The kids enjoyed the large milk shakes and said their good-byes until the next time!
