William's 4WD adventure
There was no doubt William had a great time 4WD'ing down to Flea Creek. Jack and Molly were holding hands in the back seat while William clapped his hands and sat up to see out the window.
Aunty Rach was proud of her yabby and screamed like a girl as she brought it up for the kids to see.
And then of course the 4WD cake was a big hit with the boys. When we first showed it to him he said, 'What's this? Car!'
While the oldies sat around drinking cups of tea and taking a nap the kids ran in and out of the creek.
The birthday boy was all worn out and slept under a gum tree while his big brother went looking to catch the big one.
They had an awesome time and it was something special that Molly and Oscar could come all the way from Victoria to join the fun.

William's First Birthday
William was not in the mood to sit still for his 12 month picture today so here he is with a mouth full of toast.
Or a dummy. That worked for about 20 seconds.
This is probably why he was so excited. He got his first bike which Jack helped to put together and wrap last night. He doesn't quite get the hype but he sure knows that it's all about WILLIAM today!

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby!

Thinking Back
Turning back the clock to this time last year and my feet were incredibly swollen. We enjoyed an amazing pool party for our big 3 year old boy and were filled with anxious excitement waiting for William to be born.
On his birth I cried at how beautiful and perfect he was. It really was love at first sight. Memory still serves me well though and I can't help but remember the first 3 weeks of sleepless nights, more swelling, pain, healing and exhaustion.
This time we knew he would change our lives but we never imagined our boys would become the best of friends. They are always holding hands in the car. Jack sings and William dances to his songs. They wrestle on the carpet and William runs after Jack wherever he goes. It's beautiful to see them always snuggling together with dad on the couch after dinner.
Our boy will be one year old in just 2 days. I'm glad he's not a newborn needing 3 hourly feeds anymore but he is growing way too fast.

William's First Hair cut
William had his first haircut today so we took him out to lunch looking like a big boy.
Finished the day with what Jack called, 'the best picnic ever!' It was a good picnic.

Home Time
While the boys water the vegie patch and ride in circles around the drive way it's given us a chance to get things done which takes so much longer with only one parent at home.
Stu cleaned the garage and built some shelves. They took him over an hour to put together as they came with about 100 nuts and bolts but they are very strong and can hold 50kgs on each shelf! Thanks Mum.
I used my Christmas gift voucher to buy this awesome memory foam pillow (thanks Stan) it's like sleeping on a cloud. Aunty Ren is an expert on manchester and she and Uncle Mike bought us this beautiful King size quilt cover and the new feather down quilt was from Nan and Pop. My bed is so comfortable I never want to get out of it!
The grass has stopped growing so fast but it's still lush and green. The gardens are looking gorgeous.
