Beanie Shoot

Now that everyone is well (touch wood) we can finally enjoy winter. Here are some gorgeous photos from the 'babies in beanies' competition.

A sleep-over at the snow

We had 2 days of fun at Mount Selwyn and the boys were super excited.

Jack was a pro at tobogganing by the end of our time. But he started out tandem with Mum & Dad helping to guide.

They both loved being dragged along from here to there.

Jack was a bit too confident at one stage and slipped on the ice. He suffered a big bruise but got right 'back on the horse.'

William was completely wiped out after a while and needed a nap after Jack requested 'just one more slide.'

So up and down they went, again and again.

We paid for the big toboggan hill but only went down a few times when we decided that this smaller hill was much better for little ones.

Dog Park

The boys took Tori to the dog park today and she loved it. She made some new friends and Jack had her and the bigger dogs under control.

She was so excited and she was very well behaved. When it was time to go Jack called her and put the leash on. He was quite proud of himself and he gave Tori a treat.

What a good dog!

Don't stop GO GO GO

The boys have been so busy this term. It's nothing short of a miracle that Jack is actually swimming after only starting again this term after a long break. He is so happy to go to lessons and his teacher is wonderful.

William has been much happier since his childcare worker came back from a holiday and his toe healed from an ingrown toe nail which needed 2 courses of antibiotics. He waved 'bye ma' this morning with a happy face and he is always excited to go and play with the other kids. The photo below is a bit cheeky. After throwing his dummy away at the markets he screamed all the way the the chemist (an agonising 10 minute drive) where we got him a new dummy and a spare. He was so relieved that he shoved both of them in at once. I see an addiction starting to emerge.

BIG BOYS

The weather has turned from cold to freezing. The boys have been making Mum proud by eating their vegetables and showing their muscles. There is something about age 4.5 that makes Jack more reasonable. Here he is showing William how to show off his muscles from all the carrots, peas, corn and potatoes they have eaten.

After dinner we made some gingerbread men and Jack decided he would give one to his teacher who sang him to sleep for his afternoon nap. Isn't that precious?

It's Jack's last day at family daycare on Friday as he is starting preschool for 3 days a week next semester. He was so proud to tell his dad and he thinks it's 'really cool.'

The preschool newsletter was already starting to advertise graduation dates and Jack has been accepted into a wonderful Primary School. If I blink I'm afraid I'll miss my babies being babies. I just won't blink and instead I'll soak up every cuddle.

A day in the life of William

On Monday and Tuesday the boys take life slowly. William takes 2 long naps and won't be happy until he's had his baby chino.

When it was freezing they stayed inside with coughs and colds and drove their Dad a little bit crazy with the playdoh. After I showed Stu this picture below he said, 'Can you see all of those playdoh crumbs?!'

He loves the playdoh and chats to himself while he works. Jack is excited everytime he comes up with a new word. He can say, Juice, Bye bye, Baby, Tar, Jack, Dad, No, Yes, What's this, Shoes, Mum, Rose, toot toot, tickle tickle, dog, cat, woof, hello, dums, don't, there go, there is, cheese, fish and OH NO!

His favourite dessert is custard on banana.

He is a gorgeous boy when he isn't sitting on his brother's head and bossing us all around. ;)

Snow Day

After a rough start to the morning with 2 cars refusing to start we finally made it to soccer. Dad took this team photo.

Poor Dad was off work with terrible hay fever so we decided to drive up the mountain to check if there was any snow and the boys were thrilled to find heaps of patches left from the big dump of snow that came on Wednesday.

We had a sausage sandwich for lunch and built a snow man.

It was actually warm for the snow. We got hot wearing the big coats. What a gorgeous day!
